" LGBT Youth Scotland is the national charity providing direct support to LGBTI young people across the country. We want Scotland to be the best place for LGBTI young people to grow up but we recognise that there is still work to do to make that happen.

 

This year is the Year of Young People and we're working with partners to host some exciting events, including a National Gathering in Dumfries in April with over 300 LGBTI young people signed up for a weekend of fantastic speakers, workshops and activities.

 

We'll also be hosting LGBTI youth organisations and activists from across Europe, in October, for IGLYO's annual conference, giving LGBTI young people in Scotland the chance to meet and learn from their European peers. 

 

As well as these key events we'll be continuing to provide youth groups, from Inverness to Dumfries, for over 650 young people; running more than 800 one to one support sessions; and supporting young people to influence change both locally and nationally through our Youth Commissions and National Programmes. 

 

We'll be rolling out our LGBT Charter to more schools and organisations from all sectors across the country to help them be as inclusive as they can be and we'll be sharing resources and examples of good practice to encourage inclusion in all communities.
